New info has been leaked about the next instalment in the call of duty franchise being developed by Treyarch.(who made W@W). The game is "rumoured" to be called "black ops" and is going to take place from WWII to the late 80's. Therefore there are going to be a massive variety of weapons and features. The game is also confirmed to feature customisable killstreaks (like modern warfare 2) but this time you can create a custom killstreak setup for each class(in create-a-class). The main team developming the game have stated that they are not fans of commando or knifing in general, and they plan to make the knife a secondary weapon, therefore if you want to knife you have to give up your secondary weapon, a very good idea in my opinion.
Also killstreaks no longer build to other killstreaks, what this means is if you had a predator missle and you got 2 kills with it, it will not get you your harriers, you will have to get the kills yourself. The only kills that count towards your killstreaks are kills you get with your gun, so you'll never see someone get a chopper gunner from complete luck. This will make the game require more skill. Treyarch have also said that they are going to completely re-do the call of duty stat system, they plan to include detailed stat viewing, for example if you were in a lobby with "johnny bimmy" you could click on his name and view last class used kd of last game ect. This looks like another good addition.
Thats all I know so far, I researched this myself and typed it up, hope you found it interesting. In my opinion it looks like Treyarch are listening to the community and it cod 7 looks promising, fingers crossed its going to be a much more fair, balanced game then mw2.
What are your thoughts on this? Let me know.
